Jennie Young, Ph.D.

Jennie Young is a writer and English professor at University of Wisconsin, Green Bay. She publishes work in humor, feminism, dating dynamics, and education. Her writing can be seen in McSweeney’s, Ms. Magazine, The Independent, Huffpost, Education Week, Inside Higher Ed, and elsewhere.

She wrote a textbook on high school culture using applied rhetoric, critical discourse analysis, and primary metaphor analysis methodologies; she is currently applying these same methodologies in a project on digital dating.

She has a Ph. D. in rhetoric and discourse studies from Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio, and a certificate in satire writing from The Second City Chicago.

She currently directs the Writing Foundations program at UWGB and is the editor of the academic satire site The Monocle of Higher Education.
